Martin Chiu was born and raised in Chiayi, Taiwan.
He graduated from the National Taiwan Academy of
Arts (now the National Taiwan College of Arts.) As a
retired private high school art teacher, after 40 years
of teaching, he owns a studio where he still tutors
students who seek admission into art schools and
dental schools. His expertise is in landscape
watercolor paintings and sculpturing. His latest
passion is doing watercolor portraits for pets and
people.
As an animal lover, Martin Chiu has had many dogs
and cats. Today he spends most of his time
painting, sketching natural scenery, photography,
sculpturing and travelling. He speaks Taiwanese,
Mandarin and English.
He has performed two art exhibits in New York and
numerous art group shows in Taiwan. He won first

2004 - 2006 Camden County Senior Citizens Art
Contest & Exhibition in New Jersey. His paintings are
in many fine art collectors in Asia, Europe and North
America.
His most memorable moments include being invited
three times, at the request of Taiwan’s late President
Chiang Kai-sheik to be the sole decorator for the
President's church for Christmas from 1970 – 1972.
He also traveled and lived in New York for 3 years.
I hope you enjoy my artwork.
